November Monthly Luncheon

Please join us on NOVEMBER 12th at St. John's Country Club

Please join us for a special luncheon dedicated to giving back.  We will have presentations from Port in a Storm and Lutheran Family Services.   Port in a Storm is a program dedicated to homeless youth providing drop in services, life skills, job skills, housing assistance and overnight stays. 

Lutheran Family Services is one of the charities being supported this year by the Newcomers Volunteer group.  Lutheran Family Services supports hunger relief, HIV Care and Education and a variety of services helping their clients achieve financial independence.

If you would like to bring a donation to either of these organizations they would be greatly appreciated but are NOT mandatory.

Port in a Storm suggests gift cards to Walmart or Target, to a haircutter or light jackets. If you choose gift cards they recommend gifts on the order of $10-20.

Lutheran Family Services suggests donations of the following pantry items:

Dry beans (kidney, pinto, black, small fava beans, white beans)

Pasta (spaghetti, vermicelli)

Peanut butter

Jam

Black tea

Sugar

Pepper

1.  Pollock Imperial - crabmeat stuffed filet served with yukon potatoes and white wine sauce (GF)

2.  Truffle oil roasted cornish game hen with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables (GF)

3 Vegetarian: Vegetarian risotto
